Released to universal critical acclaim this weekend, Effi o Blaenau has proved to be a hit with audiences across Wales and the rest of the UK, delivering the biggest opening ever for a Welsh language film at the box office. On a limited rollout of just over 30 cinemas, the film broke the record previously held by The Feast (Gwledd), released in 2022. Effi o Blaenau will now expand its release, continuing to play widely across the Welsh territory and cities across the UK.
