S4C is looking for new ideas for content to publish on Hansh. We want content that will inspire, amaze and raise a smile. Adventurous contemporary shortform series to publish on Hansh’s YouTube.

We are looking for the following types of series:

• Entertainment
• Travel
• Social Experiment
• Love (Dating)
• Current Affairs
• Single Short Films – Documentary/Script

Length: 10-12 minutes per episode. 4-8 episodes.

We are keen to commission strong formats that will be able to return to enrich Hansh's YouTube channel. The content will possibly follow different publishing patterns than usual in order to create publishing patterns that suit the platform. We are keen to get ideas about exceptional young people from Wales.

All pitches will need to be in the form of a 'deck slide' including:

• Strong and clear title – No title, no commission
• One line strapline
• A Casting Plan, bearing in mind Hansh's main goal of finding new faces and voices.
• A clear explanation of why Hansh, why now, who it appeals to and why it is relevant to that audience?
• You must clearly show that they are relevant and reflect the current aspirations and interests of viewers 18-24
• A definite idea of ​​the tone and style of the series - who are your influences? Please give examples and images / video / moodboard
• A social media package to go with the series
• A little information about the key creative team and your document experience / links to previous work
• When applying, contractual implications on the content that will live indefinitely on YouTube should be considered.

Budget

Depending on the content, but we are looking at commissioning the content at a rate of up to £1,000 per minute.

How to submit an idea?

If you are interested, please send your idea to syniad@s4c.cymru by 12:00 Monday, 15th September, 2025. You can submit more than one idea, but you will need to send them separately. We will confirm receipt of the idea by email.

The S4C production website s4c.cymru/en/production offers useful information including technical, contractual and communication information if you have a question about the production processes.

It is the intention of Guto Rhun, Commissioner for Young Audiences to select a shortlist in mid-October - the right is reserved to adjust the timetable and our intention will be notified by email. If you are successful the idea will need to be put on the S4C - Cloud commissioning system. This should not be done before receiving the invitation.
