Supplier Statement: Sexual Harassment

We’d like to take the opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to a safe, respectful and inclusive working environment for everyone working at S4C – or on its behalf.

Recently legislation has come into effect in the UK that strengthens protections against sexual harassment in the workplace. This legislation places a greater duty on employers to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment - something we are fully committed to and take extremely seriously.

We’d also like to remind you of your duty when working for S4C, or when providing services for or on behalf of S4C.

We therefore want to share with you our Supplier Statement: Sexual Harassment, which is also available on our website. The policy clearly outlines what constitutes unacceptable behaviour and how we support anyone who experiences or witnesses harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment.

We strongly recommend that you ensure that the appropriate steps are in place in terms of your policies and include harassment as a specific factor in risk assessments and how to deal with/report this.

We also recommend that you commit to CIISA - the Independent Standards Authority for the Creative Industries, which works to raise and maintain standards of behaviour across the sector and tackle any form of bullying or harassment, including discriminatory behaviour. CIISA aim to launch a helpline over the coming months - we will share these details with you when available.

We are also committed to supporting the Film and TV Charity which has a 24/7 helpline including a Welsh Language option.

If you ever experience or witness behaviour that concerns you, you’re also welcome to contact pryder_concern@s4c.cymru.

Thank you for continuing to play your part in creating a positive culture for everyone.
