Open Call – Digital Comedy Shorts (10 minutes)

3 October 2025

S4C has been home to Welsh comedy for decades and we are looking for the next wave of comedy voices to bring the laughter back to the heart of S4C.

We would like to receive original ideas for 10 minute comedy pilots. This is an opportunity for us to experiment with new formats and test audience response in a fast and creative way. Your idea can be a Monologue, ensemble, sitcom, mocumentary dark comedy twisted  - or original.

We will consider commissioning up to 10 individual / different ideas, to be developed and published as part of a new digital comedy strand by S4C and published digitally only.

Although the request  is a call for a 10-minute pilot, the treatment should outline how/if the pilot idea can be developed into a series and what the format of the proposed series would be.

All proposals will need to be in the form of a 'deck slide' no longer than 5 pages including:

  • Title
  • Analysis of the idea
  • Example of script work - up to 1 page
  • Casting Plan
  • An idea from the audience
  • A definite idea of the tone and style of work
  • Information about the key creative team and your experience
  • When applying, please consider the contractual implications of the content that will live on YouTube, Clic and iPlayer.

Budget

Up to £2,000 per minute depending on the content.
