FA Cup replay to be broadcast on S4C

14 January 2010

Cardiff City’s FA Cup third round replay against Bristol City will be broadcast live on S4C on Tuesday, 19 January (kick off 7.45pm).

The rematch comes after a thrilling first leg at a snowy Ashton Gate last Tuesday which saw Bristol’s Gavin Williams, who has won two caps for Wales, hit the target in the dying minutes of injury time. Williams’ strike ruled out Michael Chopra’s earlier goal to ensure a replay at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Almost 500,000 football fans across the UK tuned in to S4C’s broadcast of the rescheduled FA Cup third round tie.

S4C’s Sgorio team will be back to provide live coverage of the replay in the FA Cup competition, sponsored by Eon.

Presenter Gareth Roberts will be joined by ex-Wales international John Hartson and the FAW technical director Osian Roberts in the studio, with Nic Parry and Malcolm Allen providing expert commentary on the match.

The coverage includes English language subtitles and the match will also be available to watch live on the S4C website, s4c.co.uk

S4C is available on all platforms in Wales and on Sky 134 and Freesat 120 in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
