Junior Rugby World Championship – S4C to follow team Wales

23 May 2013

S4C will enable Welsh rugby fans to follow the efforts of our Under 20 team at this year’s Junior World Championship in France during June.

There will be highlights of the team’s first two games, against Samoa and Scotland, on S4C’s online service, Clic (s4c.co.uk/clic) on 5 and 9 June. Then on 13 June, Wales’ all important game against Argentina will be live on S4C. The game will kick off at 3.45.

If Wales succeed in reaching the semi-final and final on Tuesday 18 June and Sunday 23 June, S4C will also be showing these games live.

Geraint Rowlands, S4C Head of Broadcast and Commissioner for Sport and Events said, “There’ll be a lot of interest in the game against Argentina especially if Wales’ progress in the tournament is in the balance. Wales Under 20s nearly won the Grand Slam in this year’s Six Nations and in the Junior World Championships last year Wales beat New Zealand before losing to the All Blacks later in the semi-finals. The big question is, will the young Welshmen be able to better those efforts this year.”
