New app for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show

17 July 2013

Map, events, competitions and results. S4C have released a new app to make sure that you catch all the excitement of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show at Llanelwedd this year.

The Royal Welsh Show App includes an interactive map of the showground which makes it easy to locate all the attractions, events and stalls on the showground. It also includes a full timetable of all events and competitions and allows you to create your own timetable to make sure that you don't miss a thing.

The bilingual app also includes the latest results from all competitions, traffic and weather information, and the media section includes pictures, stories, blogs and videos from the showground.

The Royal Welsh Show App is a brand new project which has been developed especially for the 2013 Royal Welsh Show and is a joint venture between The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society and S4C.

Huw Marshall, S4C Digital Manager, said, "We were glad to work with the Royal Welsh to develop this special app. It’s a handy tool, full of useful resources, and is an excellent example of how popular events like The Royal Welsh Show can make the most of the latest technologies."

The app is available to download free to iPhone and Android phones.

Download the App from the iTunes Store for iPhones, iPod touch and iPad: http://moil.in/royalwelshios

And for Android phones including Samsung, HTC, Nokia and Motorola from Google Play: http://moil.in/royalwelshdroid

And if you can't make it to the Show don't forget that S4C offers viewers uninterrupted coverage of the show on television and online on the S4C website. During the day from 9.00am to 5.00pm the presenters, Dai Jones, Nia Roberts, Ifan Jones Evans and Meinir Jones will report from the different rings and areas of the Showground.

Wyn Gruffydd and David Oliver will provide commentary from the main ring and in the evening highlights programmes Shân Cothi will look back at the day’s events with Dai Jones at 8.25 and 9.00. Non-Welsh-speaking viewers will be able to enjoy an English language commentary on the daytime coverage and English subtitles will be available on the evening highlights programmes.

And as if that wasn't enough S4C will also be broadcasting all the competitions from the main ring as they happen, live and world-wide from 8.00 in the morning so whether you're on the Showground or watching at home, S4C will be bringing you all the excitement from the Royal Welsh Show again this year.
