S4C launches new Clic website - responsive on demand service with a fresh new look

10 April 2014

S4C has today launched its new-look on demand service, Clic, with a new system which makes it easier than ever to watch the Channel's content live and on demand at the viewers' convenience.

The new responsive Clic website has the ability to work on a variety of new platforms – including the leading providers Apple and Android - and adapts itself to suit the device through which it is being used.

It will also, for the first time allow viewers to share information about the content on social media networks.

And as part of the latest developments, the site has been given a fresh new look which is reflected across the entire S4C service, online and on TV.

S4C Chief Executive, Ian Jones, says, "I've said many times that the future for Welsh TV is making content available in as many different ways as possible so that the viewers can watch whenever and however they choose. The new on demand service, Clic, is the central pillar of our digital presence and means that anyone can use it to access S4C's content via more of the main platforms and devices.

"We're acutely aware that technological developments will mean that we have to play catch-up with devices and platforms that prove popular with the public. But with this new responsive site, that task becomes a bit easier to cope with as it's practical and affordable for us to adapt our service to incorporate new ways of watching.

"As we launch this new version of Clic, we hope the audience will agree that the new look is modern and attractive and that the service is easy to use. It also represents an historic first for us at S4C – as for the first time, the look and feel of our online service has led the way for the Channel as a whole. That is a sign of how we’re looking to the future and recognising how people of all ages are now taking advantage of the opportunities the internet brings in terms of accessing TV content."
