Howard’s Plop challenge in Anglesey

20 May 2014

On Sunday, 18 May, Howard Davies from the Ralïo+’s presenting team on S4C will be competing in a Plop Enduro race on Anglesey circuit.

Plop Enduro is a race on a Honda motorcycle, and it can last up to 6 hours!

The race will feature in S4C’s Ralïo+, Tuesday 20 May, at 9:30.

Howard, who lives in Pantperthog by Machynlleth, and is 48 year old, will be one of three in the team hoping to finish the race, and he’s looking forward to the challenge.

“It’s a new challenge for me. I’ve been riding bikes for a long time, but I haven’t done anything like this,” said Howard.

“It will be fun! It will be a ride of about 6 hours, and it will be a big challenge, and we’ll have a lot of fun. I hope people will laugh at us doing it.”

At least 70 drivers will be driving cars in the race, and will reach speeds of about 57 or 58mph on the tiny motorbikes.

Some are there to win the race, and others compete for fun. The competition is called Plop Enduro because of the noise they make.

Anglesey circuit will be sponsoring the Ralïo+ series on its tenth year, and Christopher Bibb, the General Manager at Anglesey circuit says,

“We at Anglesey Circuit are delighted to sponsor Ralïo+. It’s a great show that targets the traditional Welsh motorsport fan, and has always had a special affection for rallying. But we like the fact that the show’s also about the other disciplines, car and motorcycle racing, off-road sports. And we like the fact that it’s big on local coverage.”

Ralïo+ will be covering several events held at the circuit, including the Caernarfon and Anglesey Rally and the final round of the British Drift Championship.
