Urdd App – get the Eisteddfod wherever you are

21 May 2014

The 2014 Meirionnydd Urdd Eisteddfod App is now available to download.

This is a convenient way to follow the festival wherever you are – whether you're on the Maes or at the other end of the country.

Using the app you can keep up with the latest results, watch videos of the winners, follow the map of the Maes and create a timetable of your day's visit.

And following the success of the app at last year’s Urdd Eisteddfod, the Urdd and S4C have updated the app for 2014.

The new features allow you to:

• Share results via Facebook and Twitter

• Add scheduled events to the calendar on your device

• Download the Urdd's other app – Fy Ardal (My Area)

• Keep an eye on the weather forecast via the S4C Tywydd App

Download the Urdd App now – for free – from the App Store for iPod, iPhones and iPads, or the Google Store for Android.

The App is funded by S4C in partnership with the Urdd and was created by Llanelli-based Moilin Cyf.

Huw Marshall, S4C Digital Manager said: “We're proud to work with the Urdd, not only as a broadcasting partner, but also through developing digital platforms, supported by S4C. Thanks to this app, the audience can enjoy the Urdd Eisteddfod wherever they are."

Aled Siôn, Urdd Eisteddfod Director said: “I’m pleased that we can offer our visitors this useful tool. Those coming to the Eisteddfod can enjoy every aspect of the Eisteddfod but those unable to attend can also enjoy the event guided by the app. I hope the app will add to the enjoyment of those visiting the Eisteddfod in Bala this year."

Last year over 13,000 people downloaded the Urdd App and 95% of users gave the app at least a 4 out of 5 star rating.
