Counting appeals to Cyw in a new app

02 June 2014

Following the success of the alphabet app last year, a new app has been launched by S4C.

The new app, Cyfri gyda Cyw (counting with Cyw) is aimed at the younger viewers of the channel (0-6 years old) from 26 May and introduces numbers in a colourful and animated way.

By going on a bus journey with Cyw and his friends we learn to count from one to ten, learn how to form a number and also learn a new song, Cyfri gyda Cyw (Counting with Cyw).

Sioned Wyn Roberts, S4C’S content commissioner says;

“It’s a pleasure announcing the Cyfri Cyw app which has been launched. This is the second in a series of popular apps which helps children to learn by having fun. The Cyw a’r Wyddor app (Cyw and the alphabet) is already popular with the audience and the hope is that children will love playing, counting and learning the numbers.”

The app was developed in a partnership between Boom Plant (children) and Cube Interactive for S4C and Helen Davies the producer said that she’s looking forward to see the Cyw audience using the app to count.

“Following the success of the Cyw and alphabet app it’s a pleasure to introduce the arithmetic to Cyw viewers, and it’s also lovely to create a resource that is useful for both parents and for the school use.”

The app is available to download on your smart phone or tablet for free from the App Store. It’s also possible to download more S4C apps there, including e-book and games.

Notes:

The app counting with Cyw is free to download for the iPhone, iPad and Android.

The app was developed by Boom Plant and Cube Interactive for S4C.
