S4C appoints Sports Editor

S4C has announced a new appointment to the post of S4C Sports Editor.

Sue Butler will join S4C to lead the channel's sports coverage; seeking and negotiating broadcasting rights for a variety of sports and leading the channel's strategy on sports content.

She will join S4C on 12 January 2015.

Born in Mold and now living in Monmouthshire, Sue Butler is an experienced sports producer in the UK. She has worked on events including five Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, various FA Cup Finals, Wimbledon tournaments, Ryder Cups, Grand Nationals, and Six Nations Rugby tournaments.

S4C Director of Content, Dafydd Rhys, "I'm pleased to announce that Sue Butler will be joining us at S4C, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in sports broadcasting. With an ever increasing number of channels competing for the broadcasting rights, this is a field which is becoming increasingly complicated and competitive. Sue's task will be to negotiate this complex world and secure a varied and exciting schedule of sporting events for S4C viewers."
