Luned Whelan announced as TAC’s New General Manager

6 March 2017

Luned Whelan has begun work as General Manager of TAC (Teledwyr Annibynnol Cymru), the trade association for the Welsh independent television production sector.

Luned's role is to support TAC members in the independent TV production sector to protect the interests of those producers as a whole and to coordinate the investment of the companies in training. This will involve working with S4C, the BBC, Ofcom, Welsh Government and other bodies.

Iestyn Garlick, Chair of TAC, said: "TAC Council is delighted to welcome Luned Whelan to the post of General Manager. Luned worked in S4C for many years, and has been freelancing since 2010, during which time she has worked with a number of our independent production companies. Her experience in core elements of public broadcasting such as contracts, rights and communications will be beneficial to us, as will her creative experiences of scriptwriting and generating content, off- and online, for a variety of companies."

"Over the coming months, Luned will be busy producing an executive strategy based on the needs of the entire sector, and ensuring that the members' voice is heard at all levels in matters pertaining to the substantive developments to come over the next year in the broadcast sector in Wales."
