‘Cwis Bob Dydd’ app gains 10,000 users

17 August 2023

S4C's Cwis Bob Dydd (Daily Quiz) app has reached 10,000 users since it returned in June this year.

The aim is to answer all ten questions a day correctly, as quickly as possible, to reach the top of the scoreboard.

The score is a combination of the correct answers and how quickly the competitor has answered them, with the questions different to each user.

The quiz runs for a total of twenty weeks, following the first run in October last year.

Every time someone competes in the quiz, they receive a ticket for a chance to win the season's main prize, which is the use of a car for a year.

As well as the main prize, there are also weekly prizes which vary from international rugby tickets, a hamper of Welsh products and gadgets such as tablets, televisions and airpods. And one of the 200 at the top of the scoreboard each week will be chosen at random to win a Cwis Bob Dydd pack.

Megan Llŷn, one of the faces of Cwis Bob Dydd, said:

"It's great to see a Welsh app like this succeed and attract over 10,000 users.

"There's a momentum and excitement around Cwis Bob Dydd at the moment, with great prizes to be won and thousands of people challenging each other all over Wales in leagues with friends, family or colleagues.

"And the best news is that there's over half the season left!"

You can join in on an Apple or Android phone – just download the app and register.

The quiz is an original format from CodeSyntax, based in the Basque Country, and has been produced in Welsh for S4C by Tinint.
