Clive Jones joins S4C Board of Directors

Clive Jones has been appointed non-executive member of the S4C Board of Directors.

The former Chief Executive of ITV News and Regions joins the Board, which is responsible for developing strategy and direction for S4C and its content, with immediate effect.

As the single non-executive director, Clive will have an input into the Board's operational framework and be involved in shaping the future of the Channel.

Clive was previously Joint Managing Director of ITV Network Ltd and is the

non-executive chairman of GMTV. He chairs the Wales IP Fund and Creative

Business Wales for the Welsh Assembly Government, and Mediabox, the Government's new £6m youth media fund. Clive was made a fellow of the Royal Television Society in 1997.

S4C's Chief Executive, Iona Jones, who chairs the S4C Board of Directors,

said: "Clive has extensive experience of the UK broadcasting environment at

the highest level and will clearly prove an immense asset in helping S4C

fulfil its unique public role. I'm delighted to welcome him to the Board."

Clive Jones said: "S4C plays a crucial role in the ecology of British

broadcasting and a central role in Welsh society and I am delighted to join

the board to help guarantee its independence and its future."

Originally from South Wales, Clive was educated at Newbridge Grammar School

and the London School of Economics. He began his career in print journalism

before moving into broadcasting.
