The S4C Authority has presented its Annual Report and Statement of Accounts 2009 to Parliament.
According to John Walter Jones, Chairman of S4C, the report reflects S4C’s work in securing that the change to digital happened seamlessly, S4C now being a wholly Welsh language channel.
He added, “Although it is now a Welsh language channel, it is not a channel for Welsh speakers only. There is consistent evidence of S4C’s added value for Welsh learners and others. From subtitles to our websites, we ensure access and enjoyment for all.
“The fact that more than a million people watched our provision from large and small events across Wales last year is encouraging and shows our viewers’ appreciation of the range of events the length and breadth of Wales reflected on S4C every year.”
