Ian Jones, Chief Executive of S4C, "The past year was a busy time for S4C drama with several excellent productions. Without a doubt, Y Gwyll was the biggest of the S4C dramas. Gripping, dramatic and different to anything else shown on the channel in recent years, it was well received by our viewers. It's also raised the profile of S4C and the Welsh language nationally and internationally.

"35 Diwrnod was also an original series with a gripping storyline which kept us at the edge of our seats. With another series of 35 Diwrnod and more of Y Gwyll currently being developed, the nominations are a tribute to the work of the writers, actor and the two production teams at Teledu Apollo and Fiction Factory.

"What is also evident, when looking at the list this year, is the number of S4C factual documentaries and current affairs programmes nominated. I am pleased to see so many nominations for the channel again this year. I was confident that the year's schedule included very strong content, and am delighted that this has been recognised by BAFTA Cymru."
