Stwnsh game available to download on your mobile

09 March 2011

You can enjoy hours of fun playing games from the Stwnsh brand on your mobile phone by downloading a brand new app for free. Stwnsh is S4C’s service for young people aged between 7 and 13 years.

S4C is venturing into the world of children’s technology once again following the success of a special app for its nursery service, Cyw, to include a game from the Stwnsh website –

s4c.co.uk/stwnsh.

Byti – the rugby game promoting the Six Nations Championship where a rugby ball takes on the baseball, bowling ball and football in a series of challenges – is the first game to be released as downloadable Stwnsh apps.

With the important Six Nations clash between Wales and Ireland taking place at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, prove your rugby skills with this new and unique app.

Stwnsh will release new games available for download throughout the year to play repeatedly and collect in your phone’s archive.

The app, which was designed by Cube Interactive on behalf of production company Boomerang+ – who produce Stwnsh’s daily output, is free and can be downloaded from iTunes to mobile devices like the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and works on the iPad. It will also be available for use on Android devices.

You can also continue to download the innovative Cyw app, which includes stories, songs and games from the service’s magical and colourful world. Download the Cyw app straight to your mobile phone and entertain your children anytime and anywhere.

Siân Eirian, S4C’s Head of Children Services, “S4C is leading the field and breaking new ground in technology for children through the medium of Welsh with this important development to the Stwnsh service, which already includes an interactive website to support the on-screen output. This app follows the success of the Cyw app, which has had over a thousand downloads since its launch at the end of 2010”.
