Inviting viewers to express their opinions

15 April 2011

S4C viewers are being invited to voice their opinions on the type of programmes they want to watch as part of a public consultation.

The channel is facing financial cuts which will affect its services from 2012 onwards and S4C is keen to take into account viewers’ opinions as it plans for the future.

Viewers can voice their opinions by completing the form on the S4C website – s4c.co.uk/cysylltu – or by phoning the S4C Viewers’ Hotline on 0870 6004141*. Viewers can also send their tweets @s4carlein or join the debate using the hashtag #gwylwyr. The closing date for comments is Friday 29 April.

Rheon Tomos, Chair of the S4C Authority, says:

“S4C is always pleased to hear viewers’ opinions and as we plan for a completely new era in the channel’s history it’s more important than ever that viewers let us know what they think.

“Alongside viewers’ opinions we’re listening to the creative ideas of the independent producers. Our aim is to offer stability and leadership to producers as we put in place solid foundations for S4C’s services - services which will reflect the needs of our audience.”
