S4C has secured the rights to broadcast Wales’ football friendly match against Mexico and the three tests on Wales’ rugby tour of Australia giving viewers the chance to follow our national teams without leaving their homes.
Live and exclusive coverage of the friendly between Wales and Mexico will be hosted by the Sgorio team on Sunday 27 May from the MetLife Stadium in New York. English language commentary will also be available for Chris Coleman’s first game in charge of the national side via the red button.
In addition to the football, S4C has also won the rights to broadcast the test matches from Wales’ rugby tour of Australia in June. All three tests will be shown in their entirety on the same day as the matches are played.
Wales’ first test against the Wallabies on Saturday 9 June will be held at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. A week later (Saturday 16 June), the teams travel to Melbourne for the second test before the tour ends in Sydney on Saturday 23 June.

“Following on from their magnificent Grand Slam triumph earlier this year and with caretaker coach Rob Howley in charge of the tour, the Welsh rugby side have a golden opportunity to challenge Australia in three traditional test matches and claim a scalp from one of the Southern Hemisphere’s giants.
“With S4C also broadcasting the Rabo Direct Pro12 Play-Off Final, extensive highlights of the Heineken Cup Final, the best of harness racing with Rasus and live Glamorgan cricket matches, it will be a great summer of sport on the Channel.”
