S4C launches new App for the Urdd Eisteddfod

S4C has launched a new app for the 2012 National Urdd Eisteddfod in Snowdonia.

The Urdd 2012 app provides the latest competition results live from the Eisteddfod and allows you to follow all the fun and events on the field with photos, videos and much more.

Production company Avanti are responsible for the app, and also produce S4C's TV coverage from the event which is held at Glynllifon Park, near Caernarfon, between 4 and 9 June.

Rhys Bevan, Operations Director at Teledu Avanti, says, "The Urdd 2012 app, allows friends and family of the competitors, who can't be in the pavilion or watch the TV coverage, to feel part of the experience and join in fun of the Eisteddfod."

The app 'Urdd2012' is available for free on iPhone, iPad Touch, iPad and Android devices.

Watch all the competitions, the events and activities at the Eisteddfod on S4C with programmes during the day and the evening between 3 and 9 June.

Presenting are Nia Roberts, Morgan Jones, Mari Grug, Heledd Cynwal, Trystan Ellis Morris, Lois Cernyw and Tudur Phillips.

Watch the daily programmes live from 10 o'clock each morning including coverage of the day's main award ceremonies. In the evening, there's a chance to see highlights of the day as well as live broadcasts of the late night competitions in the pavilion on some nights.

In addition to the TV coverage, photos and videos will be on the website - s4c.co.uk/urdd – including the first, second and third place performances in each competition.
