Success for S4C film in It’s My Shout awards

14 October 2013

S4C has congratulated winners of the It’s My Shout awards following the scheme’s annual awards ceremony.

S4C participated in the scheme for the first time this year, offering opportunities for two new authors and two new directors to develop their skills.

An S4C film Gadael Sneggi, written by Ciron Gruffudd, won two of the scheme’s main prizes - the Best Film award and the award for Best Director won by Mared Swain.

Gwawr Martha Lloyd, S4C Content Commissioner, said:

“Congratulations to all this year’s It’s My Shout award winners, and it’s especially pleasing to see that authors and directors in whom S4C has invested have had such success.

“S4C has been very glad to be able to co-operate with It’s My Shout in developing new talent and to be able to work with communities across Wales in doing so. It appears that our efforts have been successful, leaving a valuable inheritance for the future of drama in the Welsh language.”
