S4C to show international rugby in June

29 May 2014

 S4C will bring you all the action from Wales’ international rugby in June with exclusive rugby available on terrestrial television.

S4C will show junior rugby world championship in New Zealand, and Wales’ rugby test in South Africa in June – the only terrestrial television to show the games exclusively.

S4C will also show both Wales’s test games against South Africa on 14 June and 21 June.

Wales’ under 20s will venture to the southern hemisphere to try and win the championship in New Zealand.

The young guns have a challenge ahead of them, and they hope to beat 3 strong teams to reach the next rounds. Wales will face Fiji, Ireland and France.

Challenging Wales in the opening game will be Fiji, and the game will be shown in full on S4C, on Monday 2 June.

On Friday, 6 June Wales will play Ireland in Auckland with the Welsh team hoping to beat their Celtic cousins.

In the last game of the first rounds, on Tuesday 10 June, Wales will face another northern hemisphere team, France, which will also be shown in full on S4C.

S4C’s Director of Content Dafydd Rhys said;

“It’s fantastic news for Wales’ rugby supporters that S4C have succeeded to get the best of summer rugby to the audience. As our international teams head to the other side of the world to face the best teams in World, it will be possible to follow every game. S4C is the only terrestrial television which will be providing that service, and we wish our best to our teams in both South Africa and New Zealand.”
