Sgorio’s Welsh Premier League 5-a-side team of the week.
Dave Jones (Newtown)
Dave Jones had some impact on the Robins’ rise to 3rd place in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League by saving Luke Borelli’s penalty in the opening minutes of the game, and also denying Declan Carroll twice. This was Newtown’s 6th clean sheet of the season.
Chris Seargeant (The New Saints)
The New Saints’ unbeaten streak continues, with Chris Seargeant again influential in their midfield play. Assisting Adrian Cieslewicz with TNS’ first goal and also netting a penalty in the 4-3 win against MBi Llandudno.
Alan Tate (Port Talbot)
This week’s big story at the GenQuip was the arrival of former Swansea defender, Alan Tate. Before his appearance in front of the Sgorio camera’s Saturday night, Port Talbot had let in 28 goals in 13 games, but his influence and experience provide vital against Bangor, with the Steel men keeping only their second clean sheet of the season in the 2-0 win.
Les Davies a Nick Rushton (gap Connah’s Quay)
The partnership between Les Davies and Nick Rushton was excellent against Carmarthen in Andy Morrison’s first game as Director of Football for the Nomads. Nick Rushton gained his first Welsh Premier League hat-trick, with all goals assisted by the Truck, Les Davies.
